Explain one way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other. Refer to one example of contrasting media language in two music videos you have studied to support your answer.
Music videos use media language such as the use of camera work and mise-en-sceneto create a story of the video and show the artists ideas. Sk8er Boi and Teenage Dirtbag.
Mise-en-scene is used in Avril Lavignes Skater Boi music video. It is used in the beginning when we see emo costumes and make-up this connotes the band is representing indie culture attracting the target audience. In Teenage Dirtbag the colours of the video are more emphasised and bright, the lead singer wears bright orange clothes connotes the band is a more mainstream who wants to have fun.
The camera work in Skater Boi is hand held with quick changes of the shots, low angle, high angle etc.) this connotes a skate video which were popular for the target audiences.
