Social Media Ban for Possible Knife Crime Suspects Knife possession in the U.K has rose to a third in five years, this has lead to this possible change. Knife Crime Prevention Orders have imposed sanctions including the ban on social media for anyone found with a knife in public or suspected to be apart of a knife crime. If any person aged 12 or over found with a knife or apart of a knife crime will have this social media ban. This social media ban would stop suspects from encouraging feuds between people, this may stop a lot of knife related crimes. If a court believes that the police are right, the sanctions for the suspect would be: Curfews to stop the suspect off the street and out of areas with gangs. The suspect must attend a special knife awareness course to maybe change their mind. No more social media Banning the suspect from seeing any gang member for up to two years.
