Analysis of mise-en-scene

LO: To analyse the mise-en-scene of 'Uptown Funk'. Focusing on the connotations and how they create meaning for the audience. Costumes & Props: Fashionable clothing = shows their wealth, fashion taste  Expensive car = shows his wealth and fame Styled hair = Smartness, fame Lighting & Colour: High-key lighting = upbeat mood, happiness, lively Bright colours = happy, upbeat Perfromance: Dancing Perfromance Setting: A street = Urban area 80's / 90's style = Retro, stylish  Hair salon = Care about how they look A club = Stylish, upbeat, youth culture. How do the visuals link to the song? Bruno Mars pop superstar celebrity image is promoted in his music video 'Uptown Funk' throughout media language. For example the clothing's used on the main group of men are suits which suggests smartness, fashion tastes and it shows off his wealth as many suits may be worn by more high class, business men/women.
